Virtual Employee Update

A monthly update for 120 employees to engage in a fun and creative way.


Our client wanted to find a way to bring their 120 employees together during the lockdown period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our challenge was to produce a virtual experience that brought everyone together in a fun and creative way, as part of a general business update.

The solution was a virtual Taskmaster inspired challenge with different tasks revealed each month. Smart Live managed the creation of the tasks, the platform for the session and the scripting and format of the evening, producing it from our own homes to ensure it was a seamless event.

Home tasking - virtual event team building activity

For the first month, we arranged a virtual video conference in which the first task was revealed and employees were divided into groups of 10 or under. They then had just 45 minutes to film and submit their entries, of which we made into a showreel. This showreel was then sent to all employees to see how each team interpreted the task, and the top 5 teams were revealed.

To ensure the element of surprise, Smart Live created unique moments such as a branded, sealed envelope that was sent to the ‘Taskmaster’, as well as creating personalised and bespoke invites to employees for the sessions. uses cookies to enhance your experience.
